Hairspray first opened on Broadway on 18th July 2002, and played for a fabulous 6 1/2 years, until January 2009. Hairspray is now a global phenomenon, with productions all round the world. A Canadian production opened at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, Ontario in May 2004 and ran for over 250 performances. A Finnish production also played in Helsinki in 2005. In the summer 2007 Hairspray opened in Tokyo, Osaka, Korea and South Africa, and of course London!
 
Hairspray the Musical has won 28 Major Awards including the prestigious 2008 Olivier Award for Best Musical. For more details click here.
