Theatre: 'Andrea Devereux' in Once on this Island (Hackney Empire) also touring to Nottingham and Birmingham; understudy 'Elizabeth' in Dirty Dancing (Aldwych Theatre, London); 'Billie Holiday' in The Billie Holiday Story (National Tour); 'Shente' in The Good Woman of Setzuan; 'Julie' in Hot Stuff (Leicester Haymarket Theatre); 'Sybil' in The Big Life (Apollo Theatre, London); 'Sarafina' in The Lion King (Lyceum Theatre, London); Simon Callow's production of Carmen Jones (Old Vic, London); Fame (Cambridge Theatre, London); 'Heavenly' in Jonzie D's Aeroplane Man (Queen Elizabeth Hall); 'Inscrutable Lady' in Kerry Michael's Aladdin and 'Carrie' in Paulette Randall's production of Shoot to Win (Theatre Royal, Stratford East) and also as 'Evelyn' in The Teacher (BBC). Yaa was in the original company of Hairspray as a 'Dynamite' at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

Yaa has also modelled for Coca-Cola/Schweppes, Levis, Ebony and Vogue magazines. She choreographed her first musical, Passports to the Promised Land, appeared on MTV Base Lounge with the band The Projects with the gospel group Chosen (Revelation TV) and is currently writing her debut album.
